What is so special about a Wall Bed by Sandmar? Not only do we use the best mechanism available, but each piece is hand crafted right here in San Diego. In fact, our showroom is located in front of our cabinet shop. We don't buy wall beds from some other state or country and ship them here. That would add a huge cost to the price of your murphy bed and that's not what we're about.
When you visit our showroom, you are able to speak directly to the builders of your wall bed, aka murphy bed, not to a salesperson who's just looking to make a commission. We design and build what you need to fit your space. We do not ask you to tailor your needs to what we build.
Wall beds, aka murphy beds, have been around for a long time. Remember the old style bi-fold doors that you had to open only to reveal a large, clunky frame? Then you had to pull the bed down hoping the doors did not get scratched. Those beds are typically 21 to 24 inches deep. With today's technology, those mechanisms are so out dated.
Ours are only 16 inches deep. Yeah that's what I said....16 inches deep! In fact, our queen wall beds run 16" deep x 65.5" - 67" wide x 90" high. Our mechanism attaches to the front panel face that can be flat or any combination of doors you can think of. When you open our murphy bed, it is a one step process. Your nana can even lift this wall bed with one finger....it is that light!
Unlike the old mechanisms that had to be secured by drilling into your floor, our wall beds are mounted to studs in the wall. This will cause no more damage to your home than hanging a picture. There is a life-time warranty on our mechanism and it is made to strict ISO (International Standards Organization) 9002 specifications holding up to 1700 pounds. We all know you are not that heavy!
